Srinagar, April 05, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Movement (JKFM), Muhammad Sharif Sartaj has said that the loss of precious lives and properties on the Line of Control (LoC) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir due to the Indian troops firing on civilian population is condemnable.
Muhammad Sharif Sartaj in a statement issued in Srinagar said that on April 2 Indian forces’ personnel targeted the civilian population and killed innocent people and damaged the properties. He said that the frequent ceasefire violations by Indian troops at the LoC had become a routine where innocent people were being killed.
He deplored that it is a nefarious method by the Indian rulers to get vote from the Indian people in the forthcoming parliamentary elections by escalating tension with Pakistan. Sharif Sartaj appealed both the countries to come to the negotiation table and settle the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people so that permanent peace could be established in the region.
