KCEU pays glowing tribute to Burhan Wani

Brussels, July 08, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU), Ali Raza Syed has paid glowing tribute to prominent martyr Burhan Muzaffar Wani. In a meeting in Brussels in connection with second martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani, he said martyr Wani has added a new page in the ongoing freedom movement. He said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not go waste. These sacrifices provided a new life in the struggle and people of Kashmir would never extract from their stance while will continue their movement till its logical end.

About the resolution of Kashmir dispute, he said that unless the people’s aspirations were addressed with sincerity, no other measures would be fruitful for the settlement. It is clear by the people of Kashmir that they want their right of self-determination in order to have freedom from Indian occupation.

Ali Raza Syed also warned that by killing people and committing crimes against the humanity in the occupied Kashmir, the India cannot stop the peaceful movement of the Kashmiris. The people of Kashmir are struggling for their rights accepted under UN Security Council’s resolutions and as per a promise committed by the Indian Authorities.

He also denounced Indian atrocities against the people of Kashmir including extra judicial killings and the house arrest and detention of a number of leaders in the held valley. Chairman Kashmir Council EU also demanded the world community to stop atrocities against the innocent and peaceful people of Kashmir.

He appreciated the recent 49-page report – the first ever issued by the UN on the human rights situation in Kashmir as saying the report highlights a situation of long-lasting impunity for abuses of human rights committed by Indian security forces in occupied Kashmir.

Ali Raza Syed also called for protection of human rights activists specially who work for basic rights of people and as well journalists in Kashmir. He also asked for international enquiry of assassination of famous journalist Shujaat Bukhari who was martyred last month in the occupied land.
