The city administration today enacted a sweeping prohibition on the passage of all heavy traffic along a critical section of Jinnah Avenue, a move enforced under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The directive, issued by the Commissioner of the Karachi Division, effectively seals the major route from the M-9 Super Highway to Shahrah-e-Faisal for large vehicles.
This comprehensive restriction specifically targets the stretch of Jinnah Avenue beginning near Saima Pari Classic and Rufi Global City on the Karachi – Hyderabad Motorway (M-9) and extending up to Malir Halt.
To mitigate disruptions and facilitate the continued flow of freight, authorities have designated an alternative path for heavy goods vehicles.
The designated detour is the Link Road (Eastern Bypass), starting from Kathore on the Superhighway (M-9) and proceeding to the Sassi Toll Plaza on the National Highway (N-5), ensuring hassle-free movement during permitted hours.
