Fourth Additional District and Sessions Judge, Abdul Sattar Soomro, while delivering the verdict on Tuesday, sentenced Muhammad Ali Chauhan to life imprisonment and a fine of one lakh rupees. In case of non-payment of the fine, Chauhan will have to endure an additional one month of imprisonment. This verdict brought to a close a case that had been stalled for six years.

The incident pertains to the abduction of Farhana Talpur, who was kidnapped from the Ostagahi neighborhood, located within the limits of A-Section police station. The case was initiated by the girl’s father, Halar Talpur, who reported the abduction to the authorities immediately after the incident.
