Khairpur police arrested an operative of an inter-provincial arms smuggling gang, weapons worth millions recovered

During a major crackdown against illegal arms smuggling, Khairpur police arrested a suspect linked to an inter-provincial smuggling gang near Ranipur on the national highway. Weapons worth millions of rupees were recovered in this operation.

Khairpur CIA police attempted to stop a vehicle during a routine check at Ranipur Toll Plaza. The driver, identified as Babu Khan, son of Waheed Bakhsh Mazari from Sadiqabad area of Rahim Yar Khan district, tried to evade arrest but the police quickly apprehended him.

Authorities seized a 47-bore rifle, three pistols with six magazines, 300 bullets, and a Toyota Grande car from the possession of the accused. A formal case has been registered at Ranipur police station.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused was transporting arms from Punjab to Karachi. Investigations into the smuggling network are ongoing and further developments are expected.

In recognition of their commendable efforts, SSP Khairpur Captain (R) Amir Saud Magsi has announced commendation certificates and cash rewards for the police team involved in this operation.
