A horrific traffic accident on the National Highway near the Tando Masti area of Sindh’s Khairpur district claimed the lives of 11 people.
As a result of a collision between a passenger coach and a trailer on the National Highway near Khairpur’s Tando Masti, 11 passengers were killed while 10 were injured.
According to rescue sources, the speeding coach collided with a truck during an overtaking attempt; the driver and conductor of the passenger coach also lost their lives in the accident. All the deceased and injured have been shifted to Khairpur Civil Hospital. The unfortunate passenger bus was coming from Punjab to Karachi. A severe collision occurred between a passenger bus and a trailer on the National Highway near Tando Masti in Khairpur, upon which the provincial police leadership has taken immediate action.
After the incident, Inspector General (IG) Sindh, Javed Alam Odho, took immediate notice of the situation.
The IG issued instructions to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Khairpur to immediately dispatch police personnel to the scene of the accident.
Further instructions were given to rapidly organize and implement relief activities on the spot and in adjacent areas.
The authorities have also been tasked with ensuring that transport routes are kept clear to facilitate the uninterrupted transfer of the injured to the hospital for medical assistance.
