In a significant development regarding regional infrastructure, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi approved the ‘Dir Motorway’ project today-a major initiative aimed at enhancing connectivity in the area. This key road construction project, spanning 29 kilometers from the Chakdara Interchange to Baroon Dir Lower, is now poised to commence following directives to initiate the land acquisition process.
The project, a collaboration between public and private sectors, carries an estimated cost of 69 billion rupees. This substantial investment underscores the government”s commitment to improving transport links, which are expected to bolster economic activities in the region and provide a vital boost to local communities.
The motorway”s construction is anticipated to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce travel times, thereby enhancing trade and mobility for residents. The decision to proceed with land acquisition marks a critical step in moving the project from planning to execution, signalling a proactive approach by the provincial leadership to expedite infrastructure development.
