Khyber Pakhtunkhwa emphasizes agriculture as key to economic stability

Peshawar, Agriculture Minister Major (Retd) Sajjad Barakwal reaffirmed the significance of agriculture to Pakistan’s economy during a meeting with newly appointed agriculture officers in Peshawar. The session, aimed at bolstering the agricultural sector, included key discussions with senior officials and welcomed the fresh cohort of experts poised to invigorate the department.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister Barakwal highlighted the government’s commitment to agriculture as a priority for national development. The meeting was attended by Secretary Agriculture Javed Marwat, Director General Agriculture (Extension) John Muhammad, and Director General Agriculture (Research) Dr. Abdul Al Bari. Minister Barakwal urged the new officers to utilize their training and skills to address the needs of farmers and contribute to the country’s food security and economic stabilization.

The event underscored the strategic importance of integrating educated and skilled professionals into the agriculture sector to enhance productivity and sustainability.
