Peshawar, Recent heavy rains and floods have severely impacted several districts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, prompting a coordinated emergency response led by the provincial government. The natural disaster has resulted in significant human and material losses, with 21 fatalities, 32 injuries, and damage to 330 houses, necessitating extensive relief efforts.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Adviser on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Saif, confirmed the establishment of an emergency flood control room within the Chief Minister’s Secretariat to oversee and manage the crisis. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the province is actively engaging in emergency relief and recovery operations across the affected districts.
The provincial government, in collaboration with the health department, is distributing relief goods and setting up free medical camps to aid the affected populations. Further, instructions have been issued to local commissioners and deputy commissioners to prioritize the restoration of infrastructure and ensure timely assistance to those in need.
