Kyrgyz Ambassador and Jam Kamal Forge Path to Enhanced Trade Relations

In a strategic move to bolster economic ties, Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Avazbek Atakhanov, met with Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, to explore opportunities for boosting bilateral trade and connectivity.

The meeting, attended by Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ihsaan Afzal and senior commerce officials, underscored Pakistan’s intent to elevate its cultural and historic connection with Kyrgyzstan into a robust economic partnership.

Kamal highlighted Pakistan’s improving economic landscape, marked by declining inflation and energy costs, as a fertile ground for trade and investment. He advocated for resolving trade challenges and urged stronger engagement from business communities on both sides.

Atakhanov acknowledged Pakistan’s economic reforms and revealed that a Kyrgyz business delegation is slated to visit Pakistan soon, underscoring Kyrgyzstan’s interest in the region’s economic growth.

The dialogue also covered potential new trade routes and affirmed a commitment to ongoing high-level cooperation, with the 5th session of the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Joint Inter-Governmental Commission set for May 2025.
