LARKANA:Larkana Awami Ittehad (LAI) Tuesday rejected the local bodies election results and staged a sit-in at VIP Road, here on Tuesday.
Hundreds of activists shouted slogans including fake election unacceptable, police-gardi unacceptable while holding flags in their hands. They announced to stage a sit in at SSP roundabout on Wednesday against lodging of cases against their activists.
Speaking on the occasion, Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) Secretary General and Convenor, Larkana Awami Ittehad (LAI), Dr Safdar Ali Abbasi, JUI-F’s provincial General Secretary Maulana Rashid Khalid Mahmood Soomro, MPA Moazim Ali Abbasi and others said that they were announcing war on Sindh government and the Election Commission to maintain the integrity of the vote.
They said that their war would continue till the end of the PPP government in Sindh and, their movement would start from every district of Sindh and end in Karachi. They said no one would be allowed to steal the mandate of the election.
They demanded that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif should give respect to the slogan of the former Prime Minister of the country Mian Nawaz Sharif ‘to give respect to the vote’ and give rights to the people of Larkana. They said the masses had completely rejected this fake election by taking part in the sit-in today despite sizzling hot weather.
They said that besides Larkana, their mandate was also stolen in other cities including Kamar-Shahdadkot, Miro Khan and other areas. They said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was presented the stolen mandate of Larkana and due to those wrongdoings, all their allies were leaving them and were standing by them Oday.
We said on the very first day that the elections should be free and fair, they added. LAI leaders said that if reelections were not conducted, then their movement would continue till the fall of the Sindh government.
