In a decisive late-night operation in Kot Diji, authorities apprehended 2 individuals red-handed for illegally felling trees, signaling a firm government stance against environmental crimes.
The surprise raid, led by Assistant Commissioner Kot Diji Darya Khan, was conducted in the dead of night between Wednesday and Thursday to catch the lawbreakers in the act.
During the inspection, the two suspects were found cutting wood and loading it onto a handcart. Officials present at the scene immediately took them into custody.
The illegally obtained wood and the handcart used for its transportation were confiscated by the administration as evidence for forthcoming legal proceedings.
Following the arrest, the accused were transferred to the lock-up. A formal case has now been registered against them under the relevant sections of the law.
Assistant Commissioner Darya Khan expressed his resolve that such operations against illegal activities in the area will continue unabated.
