LG minister sees PDM movement to be victorious

KARACHI:Provincial Minister for Information, Local Government, Forests and Religious Affairs Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the PDM movement will be successful and the nation will soon get rid of the incompetent government of PTI.

 

He said this while talking to media outside Sindh Assembly on Tuesday. He said that there was always a problem of gas shortage in winter season but the governments made arrangements in advance to deal with it so as to reduce the impact on the people but the incompetent federal government had not taken any action in this regard and particularly purchase of LNG in time

 

“People’s lives have become unbearable because of the federal government’s policies,” he said. Unemployment, inflation and now the gas crisis are caused by the irresponsibility of the federal government. “It’s a big scandal,” he said. Responding to a question, he said that apart from vehicles and industries, domestic consumers did not have access to gas which had severely affected their daily lives.

 

Replying to another question, Shah said that special attention had been paid on the cleanliness in Karachi city. “There has been a lot of improvement after the appointment of administrators in the local bodies. Expenditure has also come down.” Citing the example of Karachi’s Central District, he said that in the era of local bodies, 17,000 tons of garbage was collected from the district every month at a cost of Rs 15 million per month but now 46,000 tons of garbage is being collected every month at Rs 10.3 million.

 

He said that on the directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, mega development projects had been launched in Karachi. Some had been completed while some are in progress, In response to a question, he said, “As a political worker, I am saying that the incompetent government is coming to an end soon.”
