ISLAMABAD:The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday assured the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that local government (LG) elections in the federal capital will be held within 120 days.
After the ECP’s assurance, a two-member bench headed by IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq, disposed of the intra-court appeals (ICAs) of the ECP and the federal government.
The ICAs were separately filed against the ruling of a single bench of the IHC, which had directed the ECP to hold LG polls in the federal capital on December 31, 2022.
