Lockdown in Larkana further tightened as four more areas sealed off

LARKANA:Lockdown in Larkana city further tightened on Thursday as four more areas sealed off to control the local transmission of coronavirus cases in the city. The city has started producing local transmission cases like Karachi and other parts of the country. Larkana district has reported a total of 65 cases out of which 42 are from Tablighi Jamaat members and 23 from the local spread.

The authorities have sealed four more localities in the city that include Ali Goharabad, Samiabad, Samtia road, and Qafila Sarai. The citizens in these localities have been forced to stay home until further government orders. Earlier, three localities Bakrani Road, Nawa Tak, and Darri Muhalla had been sealed as a precautionary measure to save residents from the deadly viral disease that has created panic in the city.

A complete lockdown was observed in the city today as all business and social activities remained standstill. Bazaars and markets remained completely closed in the city. Only retail shops were opened to provide necessary daily use items to the citizens.

Police and Rangers conducted patrolling in the city to ensure the lockdown. A low number of motorcycles, cars, and other vehicles were seen plying the roads for necessary works. The hospitals and medical stores, however, remained open to cater to the needs of patients.

The laborers’ community has badly been affected by the lockdown and they need urgent relief goods, including ration, to feed their children. Large public gatherings, weddings and congregations, conferences, and other events have also been banned in the city.
