Banka: A video has surfaced from the Barahat block in Banka district, Bihar, depicting madrasa students being compelled to chant “Jai Shri Ram,” leading to widespread public outcry and calls for action.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the video has incited significant backlash on social media platforms, with numerous users tagging the Bihar Police and Banka Police to demand a thorough investigation into the matter.
The Banka Police confirmed that an investigation is currently underway and have assured the public that those responsible will be held accountable. Four juvenile offenders have been arrested in connection with the incident.
In response to the situation, a peace committee meeting was convened, involving representatives from both communities in a bid to preserve law and order in the region.
“Both parties assured their commitment to maintaining peace and order. Currently, the situation remains peaceful, and law and order are normal,” reads an official post from the authorities.
This incident has heightened concerns about religious intolerance and the treatment of Muslims in the area.
