Major crackdown against illegal land occupation in Ghotki, occupation removed from 100 acres of forest

In a determined effort against the land mafia in Ghotki, authorities today reclaimed 100 acres of illegally occupied forest land on the first day of a massive operation.

The Forest Department launched this significant campaign under the guidance of Advisor for Forests and Wildlife Mir Babul Khan Bhayo and the leadership of the Forests Committee headed by the District and Session Judge of Ghotki. This operation was led by Divisional Forest Officer Ziaullah Laghari, with a substantial recovery of the Mirpur forest area, which was previously under illegal occupation.

After reclaiming the land, the Forest Department immediately took control and sowed acacia seeds for the restoration of the forest ecosystem. DFO Ghotki, Ziaullah Laghari, stated that this operation is in accordance with judicial orders, which have full strategic support from Deputy Commissioner Ghotki, SSP Ghotki, and Conservator of Forest, Sukkur Circle Iftikhar Ahmed Arain.

This operation will be further intensified over the next three days, targeting the forests of Mirpur, Adilpur, and Jarwar in Ghotki district. After the Eid holidays, a further campaign is planned in collaboration with Pakistan Rangers to clear all remaining sensitive forest areas.

Additionally, strict measures have been taken against urban dealers who aid illegal cultivation by supplying fertilizers and pesticides, emphasizing the comprehensive nature of the crackdown against this illegal land use.
