Major operation in Mirpurkhas, gutka worth lakhs recovered, 2 suspects arrested, main suspect escaped
According to an official police statement, the raid today was part of an ongoing crackdown against elements selling drugs. Under the supervision of ASP City Madam Qurat-ul-Ain, a team led by SHO Town Ameen Mari conducted an operation near the PCB ground on Tando Adam Road on a secret tip-off.
During the raid, authorities arrested two individuals, Mansoor Ali Zanijo of Larkana and Muhammad Bakhsh Khoso, a resident of Baloch Para, Mirpurkhas. A private vehicle was also taken into custody.
A third person, Amir Bakhsh Zardari, managed to escape and is now considered the main suspect. Police have identified the fugitive as the owner of a goods agency in Dholanabad who is associated with the transport sector.
Law enforcement officials have claimed to have recovered a large quantity of harmful gutka and mawa from the possession of the accused and have described the operation as a significant success against the city’s illegal drug network. A case has been registered at the Town Police Station under the Sindh Prohibition of Manufacturing and Sale of Gutka Act, 2013, and raids are being conducted for the arrest of the escaped suspect.
