Majority Of Pakistanis Affirm Women Receiving Inheritance, Urban Areas Ahead: Survey

Two-thirds of Pakistanis confirm women in their families receive their due inheritance, a recent survey reveals. Urban households show a higher prevalence (74%) compared to rural areas (62%). The study was conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, polled 779 adults nationwide .

The research explored whether women received their legally entitled portion of inheritance. A significant majority (66%) responded affirmatively, while 30% reported women did not receive their share. A small fraction (4%) were uncertain or declined to answer.

The survey utilized Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) and included participants from both urban and rural locations across all four provinces. The margin of error is estimated at ± 2-3 percent with a 95% confidence level. The results are sourced from the Gilani Research Foundation.
