KAMBER: A middle aged man was axed to death by unidentified persons within the limits of Kamber Dost Ali Bangla police station in the wee hours of Wednesday, police said.
According to the police, Mumtaz Ali, son of Wahid Bukhush Chandio, was killed with an axe by unknown persons in Muhammad Ali Gramani village in Kamber-Shahdadkot district of Sindh.
In the morning, the villagers saw his body lying on the ground and informed the area police, who took the body to the Kamber hospital for medico-legal formalities. Later the deceased was handed over to the heirs. The police could not register the case till filing this news. However, they have started a probe into the incident besides launching search for the killers. A mourning atmosphere prevailed in the area.
