SHIKARPUR: A middle aged man was killed in a traffic accident on Shikarpur-Sukkur section of the National Highway near Jahan Khan police check-post on Thursday.
According to police, the road accident happened between a tractor-trolley and a rickshaw. As a result of heavy collision, a passenger, Muhammad Punjal alias Toufique Ahmed Mahar, aged 45, travelling in the rickshaw, died on the spot.
The drives of rickshaw and tractor-trolley escaped from the scene soon after the incident, abanding their vehicles on the spot. The body was shifted to Taluka Hospital Lakhi and later handed over to the heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities. No FIR could be registered till late evening. Lakhi police have impounded both vehicles and started search for the fleeing drivers.
