Police reported today to have detained eighty suspicious individuals for verification and arrested thirteen alleged criminals during an extensive security operation that saw over 1,200 people checked across the federal capital.
The large-scale search and combing initiatives were launched following special directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of a broader effort to curb crime and clamp down on illegal activities.
The citywide crackdown was conducted under the direct supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, with respective zonal SPs monitoring the activities in their areas.
During the comprehensive sweeps, law enforcement personnel scrutinised a total of 1,266 individuals, 565 households, and 77 shops. The inspections also covered 18 hotels, along with 215 motorcycles and 90 other vehicles.
In addition to the detained persons, 30 motorcycles were impounded and moved to a police station for further investigation.
SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, stated that the objective of these measures is to tighten the noose around criminal elements and to significantly enhance security throughout the city.
Officials confirmed that similar operations are being conducted in different areas across the district as the Islamabad Police continues its indiscriminate action against criminals, land grabbers, and drug dealers.
