Minister orders effective measures to increase SSIC revenue

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Board of Governors of Sindh Small Industries Corporation was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Industries Jam Ikramullah Dharejo.

 

The meeting was also attended by Secretary Industries Riaz-ud-Din, Managing Director Sindh Small Industries Corporation Najabuddin Sehto, Deputy Managing Director Sarwat Fahim and other officers. The meeting approved Rs267.544 million for 2018-19 budget, Rs250.016 million for 2019-20 budget and Rs247.407 million for 2020-21 budget.

 

Addressing the meeting, Jam Ikramullah Dharejo urged the officers concerned to recover the dues. It was informed that 95% of the budget of Small Industries Corporation is spent on salaries, pensions and liabilities.

 

Dharejo directed the officers to take effective measures to increase the revenue of Small Industries Corporation. He said that attendance of employees in Sindh Small Industries Corporation should be ensured. Attendance should be checked through biometric system. Dharejo said that ghost employees had no place in government departments. Encroachments from Small Industries Corporation should also be eliminated.

 

He said that sources of income of Sindh Small Industries Corporation should be improved and timely payment of salaries to the employees of the corporation should be ensured. The minister said that it was a matter of happiness that now the salaries of the employees were being paid on time. He also stressed the need for employees to improve their performance.
