Mirwaiz demands release of journalism student

Srinagar, February 13, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday demanded the release of a journalism student who has been booked under draconian Public Safety Act. Aadil Farooq, pursuing MA in Journalism from Central University of Kashmir was booked under the black law, Public Safety Act on the fake charge of being ‘over ground worker’ of mujahidee’. His family has flatly refuted the charge.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq condemned Farooq’s arrest and said that he had been falsely booked under Public Safety Act and shifted to Kotbhalwal Jail in Jammu. Meanwhile, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement expressed concern over the killing of as many as 28 innocent students in a mysterious blast in at a school in Kakapora area of Pulwama district. He said that precious human lives were lost due to uncertainty and political instability in the occupied territory.
