More KDA officers involved in illegal occupation of plots arrested

KARACHI:On the direction of Provincial Minister for Anti-Corruption, Industries and Commerce, Jam Ikramullah Dharejo, the Sindh Anti-Corruption Department has expanded the scope of action against KDA officers involved in illegal occupation of lands and plots.

On Monday, accused Muhammad Shahid, Additional Director KDA involved in illegal occupation of plots and land was arrested from Karachi at his office while another accused Sub-Registrar Dev Prakash was arrested from Umerkot. FIRs have been registered against them, the govt sources said.

It may be recalled that the Deputy Director Anti-Corruption West had arrested Deputy Director Muhammad Ibrahim yesterday while taking notice of complaints regarding the occupation of plots in Sector D-3 of Baldia.

According to Sindh Anti-Corruption Director Sohail Qureshi, the arrest of more accused involved in the scam was expected soon. In a statement, Dharejo praised the performance of the Anti-Corruption Department and hoped that the officers of the department would work in the same spirit to eradicate corruption from Sindh.

He vowed that action would be taken against the corruption mafia at all levels and no institution or person involved in corruption would be spared. He said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had given clear and strict orders to take action against the corruption mafia.
