Islamabad, April 16, 2019 (PPI-OT): Meeting for the election of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was held on 16th April, 2019 at 03:00 p.m in Committee Room No. 2 (First Floor), Parliament House, Islamabad.
The meeting commenced with the recitation from Holy Quran. The Special Secretary, National Assembly Secretariat, welcomed the Hon. Members and briefed them about the agenda and procedure for election of Chairman.
Later on, the proceeding of the Election of the Chairman was started. Consequently, Ms. Mehnaz Akber Aziz, MNA proposed the name of Mr. Sher Ali Arbab, MNA which was seconded by Mr. Muhammad Aslam Bhootani, MNA and all the other Hon. Members of the Parliamentary Committee. Special Secretary, National Assembly Secretariat announced that Mr. Sher Ali Arbab, MNA is unanimously elected as Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on CPEC.
Consequently, he congratulated the newly elected Chairman on behalf of the Hon. Speaker and the Worthy Secretary, National Assembly Secretariat. He also assured the Committee for providing full Secretarial support for effective and efficient functioning of the Committee. All the Hon. Members congratulated and expressed their full confidence and cooperation to the newly elected Chairman. The Chairman also reciprocated them for giving their confidence and support.

MNAs/Members Mr. Sher Ali Arbab, Mr. Sadaqat Ali Khan, Mr. Umar Aslam Khan, Mir Khan Muhammad Jamali, Ms. Zille Huma, Mr. Ghous Bux Khan Mahar, Mr. Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Syed Imran Ahmad Shah, Ms. Mehnaz Akber Aziz, Mr. Raza Rabani Khar, Mr. Zahid Akram Durrani, Mr. Muhammad Aslam Bhootani and Malik Aamir Dogar, Chief Whip attended the meeting with the National Assembly Secretarial staff.
