Muharram: Stagnant rainwater drained out from Larkana’s various localities

Larakana: Stagnant rainwater was drained out from various localities ahead of 10th Muharram here on Saturday under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Ahmed Ali Soomro.

The rainwater was drained out with the help of Sindh Solid Waste Management and municipal workers from Resham Gali, Jaffery and Khichi Imam Bargahs, Fish Market, Lahori Muhalla, Old Bus Stand, Bunder Road, Jinnah Bagh Chowk, Station Road and other areas but the rainwater could not be drained out of Kennedy Market where the office of the PPP Secretariat is located.

Soomro told newsmen that last night’s rainwater was drained out from various localities due to the ongoing Holy month of Muharram to enable the mourners to attend Majalis and processions.

Meanwhile, stagnant rainwater from PPP Secretariat established in Kennedy Market by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto could not be drained out due to which ideological workers and commoners felt unrest.

Ali Gul Shaikh, Zakir Chandio, Munir Jatoi, Sher Dil Bhutto, Aslam Jatoi, Rizwan Shaikh and others alleged that those who claim to be leaders of the PPP have ignored their office. They said that roads leading to the residences of the so-called leaders are neat and clean but the party secretariat is still filled with rainwater which shows their loyalty to the party and work for the city to maintain cleanliness.
