Muniba Mazari, a prominent public speaker, artist, human rights champion and UN Women National Goodwill Ambassador, has been appointed as a Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Advocate by UN Secretary-General António Guterres. The announcement, made public on Friday, recognizes Mazari’s tireless efforts in promoting inclusivity, gender parity, and social equity globally.
The prestigious designation places Mazari alongside influential figures like Prime Minister Mia Mottley of Barbados and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, all working to elevate awareness and encourage action towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
In his official communication, Guterres praised Mazari as an inspiration and a prominent voice on inclusivity and gender parity, commending her accomplishments and dedication to equality. He urged her to utilize her platform to bring the SDGs to the forefront of global attention.
