Murad visits Kashmore

Kashmore: Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah visited the flood and rain-affected areas here on Wednesday. He was received by Sohrab Sarki, Gul Mohammad Jakarani, Altaf Ahmed Khoso and others on his arrival.

Kandhkot-Kashmore Deputy Commissioner Manwar Ali Mithani while briefing him said that the district has 3 talukas, one municipal committee, 6 town committees and 41 UCs.

There are 148 villages in this district, of which 110 are in Pucca and 38 are in Kacha. From July 1 to August 26, 1,353 mm of rain fell. Due to heavy rains, an area of 159,731 acres of the district was affected. 119,698 houses collapsed due to rain.

As many as 20,084 cattle died along with 31 people and 709 were injured due to the rain. 27 relief camps were established where 6961 victims were accommodated. Cooked food, milk, ration bags, tarpaulin, mosquito nets, jerry cans, bed sheets and other equipment were provided in the camps. The water has been drained from the low-lying areas. After the water receded, the victims returned to their homes.

The rest will return to their villages soon. Along with the Kashmore district, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that Jacobabad was affected by floods and rains. And will also visit Shikarpur. H.O.NO.263/2022.
