An under-custody accused in a murder case, Mehboob Brohi, escaped from the lock-up at the Tail Shakh check-post of Bhria City police on Saturday, leading to the suspension of five police officials.
The accused was being held at the Tail Shakh police check-post of Bhria City police, where he reportedly managed to deceive the officials and flee.
Mr. Brohi was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the killings of Ghulam Hussain Rajpar and Saeed Solangi. Both men were killed a few months ago in an armed attack by dacoits on the same police check-post.
Following the escape, SSP Naushahro Feroze took notice of the security lapse and ordered the immediate suspension of five officials, including Head Clerk Allah Dino aka AD Khushk.
Sources further stated that authorities have initiated efforts to re-apprehend the fugitive, and political and feudal influence is reportedly being used to aid in the search. However, the escaped accused has not yet been arrested.
