National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq today strongly denounced the recent Israeli attack on Iran.
He expressed this condemnation during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Dr Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in Geneva.
The discussion occurred on the sidelines of the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament. Sadiq emphasized the strong, longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Iran, describing the two nations as neighbors and allies united by common goals of peace, stability, and economic growth. He underscored the importance of ongoing cooperation and respect between the two countries.
Sadiq reiterated Pakistan’s disapproval of the unprovoked Israeli assault on Iran, reaffirming the nation’s steadfast support for Iranian sovereignty and territorial integrity. He praised Iran’s restrained reaction to the attack and its endeavors to prevent further escalation.
He highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to peace in the Middle East and West Asia. Sadiq emphasized Pakistan’s consistent support for a peaceful resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue through dialogue, engagement, and international collaboration.
Both speakers recognized the positive contribution of their respective parliaments in bolstering bilateral ties. They specifically noted the importance of the Pakistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Groups in cultivating stronger parliamentary and interpersonal connections. The leaders concurred to further enhance collaboration on regional peace and progress through parliamentary diplomacy.
