(National): Anti-vehicle theft facility launched

Karachi:The Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation, Mukesh Kumar Chawla said Sunday that Sindh Excise Department had introduced SMS Service for convenience of people.

“Now anyone can find out the number of vehicles registered in his name by sending his CNIC No to 814. The service aims to discourage vehicle theft, unlawful use and other crimes,” Chawla said in a statement. He said that the facility was available on the department’s website www.excise.gos.pk, and it was provided through SMS to know the number of registered vehicles.

Chawla further said that this facility would not only save time and money for the people, but also reduce the pressure on the offices of Sindh Excise Department. He said that the purpose of excise and taxation department was to provide facilities to the people with innovation and being law abiding citizens, now it was the responsibility of the people to pay their taxes on time.
