A district Neelum awareness session was held regarding the nationwide cervical cancer vaccination campaign. Led by the CSP, this 12-day campaign will run from September 15 to 27, 2025, vaccinating girls aged 9 to 14. District Health Officer Dr. Ghulam Nabi Mughal chaired the session, which was attended by numerous medical professionals and field workers.

Dr. Mughal highlighted the importance of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, stating that Pakistan is the 148th country to offer it. He emphasized its effectiveness in preventing cervical cancer, assuring its safety and halal status. Vaccination centers will be established in union councils, educational institutions, and medical facilities. Public health units will also visit schools for vaccination.

This revolutionary initiative aims to protect young girls from this life-threatening disease. Authorities highlighted it as the world’s first cancer-prevention vaccine. Parents are urged to participate fully in this campaign for the bright future of their daughters.

Experts, including MS District Hospital Athmuqam Dr. Sardar Sajjad Mughal, Gynecologist Zahida Younis, and CSP Coordinator Khwaja Lashkar Hussain Azad, briefed the participants on program details. They cited the effectiveness of past vaccination campaigns against various diseases, referencing the success of HPV campaigns in countries like Saudi Arabia.
