The district administration has ordered an immediate halt to bus operations at Mariam Top and Panj Hatti stops, directing all transport to use the newly constructed bus terminal, while the Sindh government is preparing to launch a new service of 10 buses for the district.
The directive was issued during a key meeting held on Monday at Sachal Sarmast Hall in the DC office to address transport issues in Khairpur.
Presiding over the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Altaf Ahmed Chachar announced that the provincial government would provide a new fleet to improve public transportation in the region.
He clarified that these vehicles will operate on two main routes, serving passengers traveling between Ranipur and Khairpur, and connecting Khairpur to Sukkur.
Chairman Municipal Committee Dr. Yar Muhammad Phulpoto said that the new bus terminal was built to facilitate transporters and regulate their operations.
Emphasizing the new regulations, he assured transport operators that they would be provided with full facilities at the official terminal.
