LARKANA: At the meeting all DSPs of the district, DSP Legal, DSP Admin, RI, SHOs, Traffic Sergeants, Assistant Base 15 in-charges and all Heads of Branches participated in the first introductory meeting presided over by the new SSP Larkana Bashir Ahmed Brohi here on Wednesday.
The agenda of the meeting was the orders and instructions issued by the Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Nabi Memon. Addressing the meeting SSP Bashir Brohi directed the police officers to include the solution of people’s problems, prevention of crimes and the arrest of fugitives of law accused in their first priorities.
SSP said that investigation of Gutka/Mawa narcotics, motorcycle snatching, theft, law and order and listed cases, action against drug selling and gambling dens, prohibited items, fancy number plates, prevention of house robberies, snatching of motorbikes and action against stealing gangs, concrete measures against social evils, cases of delay in filing FIRs, prevention of tribal disputes, departmental and legal proceedings against police officers involved in crimes, court matters, foreigner’s security, police personnel effective use of personnel including their welfare and non-essential gunmen/guards issues are on the priority agenda.
SSP said that the primary responsibility of the police is the detection of the cases and the punishment of the accused by the relevant courts. SSP said that the inspection and investigation process of the registered cases will be regularly monitored throughout the district. All the DSPs, SHOs and SIOs, due to their professional skills, training and experience, not only took the cases to their logical conclusion, but also awarded exemplary punishments to the accused from the respective courts.
He said that with the help of modern technological systems and CCTV cameras installed throughout the city, the actions against the criminal elements should be regularly made in a very efficient manner. The investigation of the listed cases should be done on the basis of honesty, thoroughness and merit.
Bashir Ahmed Brohi is posted as SSP (BPS-19) at Kambar @ Shahdadkot but has also been assigned dual charge to look after the work of SSP Larkana Sarfraz Nawaz Shaikh who is proceeding on two years study leave for Master Degree in Criminal Justice at University of Baltimore (USA).
