No let-up in killings even in Ramadan

Srinagar, May 16, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for complete shutdown, tomorrow (Friday), against the ongoing killing spree by Indian troops in the territory. The JRL in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that even in the holy month of Ramadan there was no let-up in killings and bloodshed in occupied Kashmir. It said that in one manner or the other, the Kashmiris continued to pay the price of the unresolved Kashmir dispute as use of force against them was going on unabated.

“Whether it is death of civilian Rayees Ahmed Dar of Pulwama killed during a cordon and search operation CASO or Arshad Ahmed Dar of Chanabal Pattan killed while protesting the most heinous crime of rape of a child or the killing of Nayeem Shah of Bhaderwah by members of a Village Defence Committee (VDC), Kashmiris continue to fall prey to the lingering issue and subsequent use of unbridled force,” the JRL said. To protest these unfortunate killings, it said, people will observe peaceful strike tomorrow (Friday). “Imams and khateebs in Friday sermons will also raise their voice against this bloodshed,” it added.
