(No new taxes would be imposed on poor segment of society in budget: Shaukat Tarin)

ISLAMABAD:Minister for Finance and Revenue, Shaukat Tarin has said no new taxes would be imposed on poor segments of society in the budget for next financial year.

In an interview with a private news channel, he said a considerable relief would also be provided to the downtrodden segments in the next budget. Shaukat Tarin said the incumbent government is focusing on broadening tax net to further improve and stable the national economy.

He said the government is trying to further enhancing exports, revenue collections, besides taking numerous administrative measures in a bid to achieve sustainable economic growth. To a question, the Finance Minister said the government would give targeted subsidies to the power sector this year.
