According to Mustafa Kamal, the Federal Minister for National Health Services, the Government of Pakistan is committed to providing full support and facilitation for Chinese investment in the country’s rapidly growing pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
It was officially announced today that while addressing a conference in Islamabad focused on pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and biotechnology, Mustafa Kamal assured participants that no obstacles would be allowed to impede Chinese investment in the country.
He emphasised the immense potential for investment in Pakistan”s pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. The Minister pointed out the significant reforms undertaken in the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), which has seen a transformation into a dynamic institution over the past year.
A major highlight of these reforms is the expedited registration process for medical devices. Previously taking approximately two and a half years, the process has now been streamlined to about twenty days, thanks to digitisation efforts. Kamal noted that DRAP has processed an impressive 4,700 registration cases in the last eight months.
This shift represents a significant stride in enhancing the ease of doing business in Pakistan”s health sector, promising a conducive environment for foreign investments.
