Notorious dacoits gang surrenders to police in Rajanpur

Rajanpur: Police in Rajanpur achieved a breakthrough in its operation against the dacoits of katcha area when 12 members of a notorious gang laid down their arms on Saturday.

This is being described as a major achievement for police in its seven-week long operation against the bandits. Speaking to media, District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Nasir Sial said that this was the biggest achievement for police so far.

He further said that Punjab Inspector general of Police (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar was monitoring the operation, while Regional Police Officer Captain (r) Sajjad Hassan Khan was supervising it.

He elaborated that those who had surrendered were nominated in heinous crimes. He claimed that so far over 80 per cent katcha area had been cleared of dacoits, and very soon the remaining area would also be freed from them.
