New Delhi, July 18, 2022 (PPI-OT): Suspended Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Nupur Sharma has applied to revive the petition in the Supreme Court seeking protection from arrest in cases filed over her comments on Prophet Mohammed (SAW).
Nupur Sharma sought to pursue her earlier petition rescinding her request for its withdrawal following rasping criticism from the Supreme Court bench. Nupur Sharma is facing nine FIRs for her blasphemous statement against the Prophet.
As per a media report, the former BJP spokesperson moved the SC saying she and her family members are constantly receiving rape and death threats after Supreme Court’s strong criticism against her comments. In her petition, she pleaded for clubbing the FIRs at Delhi.
