Numerous serving and retired government employees have expressed frustration over prolonged delays in receiving their salaries, pensions, and other financial dues, prompting an intervention by the office of the Sindh Ombudsman in Ghotki.
On the direction of Sindh Ombudsman Sohail Rajput, an open kachehri (public hearing) was held at the District Accounts Office on Tuesday to directly address the long-standing financial and administrative issues faced by public officials.
A large number of current and former employees attended the session, which was presided over by Fazal Muhammad Shaikh, the Regional Director of Sindh Ombudsman Ghotki. They submitted formal written applications detailing their hardships concerning outstanding salaries, pension payments, access to GP Fund, and financial assistance.
Mr. Shaikh took immediate notice of the grievances and issued directives to the concerned accounts officers to expedite the resolution of the cases presented on the spot.
Speaking on the occasion, the Regional Director affirmed that the Ombudsman’s institution is taking comprehensive measures to provide prompt justice. He stated, “The purpose of these open kachehris is to redress the grievances of employees, provide them with justice, and resolve issues within government departments by hearing them directly.”
He further assured that all received applications would be processed swiftly in accordance with the law, and stressed that “injustice to any citizen will not be tolerated.”
The meeting was also attended by other key officials, including District Accounts Officer Ghulam Sarwar Chachar, Additional Accounts Officer Sarfaraz Awan, and Accounts Officer Barkat Memon.
