ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Saturday said only the parliament has the authority to rewrite the Constitution of Pakistan.
Addressing a reception in honor of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) representatives at the Parliament House, he underscored that the Constitution is a sacred document and its protection is the responsibility of all of us.
He said clash of any sort between institutions is not in the interest of the country. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said media is an important pillar of the country which has always played an instrumental role for the restoration of democracy in the country.
He advised the journalist fraternity to keep upholding and maintaining the honor and respect of the Parliament. He stressed there could be no compromise on the supremacy of the Parliament.
