The district administration of Quetta arrested 12 individuals and sealed 16 commercial centers, including eight illegal mini petrol pumps, on Wednesday as part of an ongoing crackdown on various civic violations.
The comprehensive operations, spanning the Saddar, City, Kuchlak, and Saryab subdivisions, involved the inspection of 75 different shops and markets.
In addition to the arrests, four of the detained individuals were sent to jail, officials reported. The sealed establishments include eight illegal mini fuel stations and an equal number of shops found in violation of regulations.
The enforcement drive also targeted environmental and commercial infractions, resulting in the confiscation of 40 kilograms of prohibited plastic bags. A total of Rs 50,000 in fines was imposed on violators for offenses such as price control violations and encroachments.
The crackdown was conducted under the direct supervision of several key officials, including Assistant Commissioner Ehsamuddin Kakar and Special Magistrates Izzatullah, Imran Zeb, and Haseeb Sardar.
