Order for elimination of drug peddler network and crackdown against proclaimed offenders in Thatta district

Following a high-level security meeting on Saturday in Thatta district, law enforcement authorities in the district have been directed to intensify operations against drug peddlers, especially those operating around educational institutions, and to expedite the arrests of proclaimed and wanted criminals.

These directives were issued by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Thatta, Sajid Ameer Suddozai, during a comprehensive crime review meeting held at the SSP Office. The meeting was attended by all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Station House Officers (SHOs), and other key personnel of the jurisdiction.

The meeting conducted a detailed review of the overall law and order situation, reported and unreported crimes, and police performance. Acting on the instructions of IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho and DIG Hyderabad Tariq Razzaq Khan Dharejo, the SSP ordered more effective strategies to control crime throughout the region.

Officers were instructed to take immediate and concrete action against proclaimed, absconding, and wanted individuals involved in serious cases. The SSP emphasized that to ensure the rule of law, efforts to arrest listed habitual, proclaimed, and rewarded criminals should be intensified.

A coordinated strategy will be adopted to intensify the crackdown against drug peddlers, using the classified lists (A+, A, B, C) compiled by the IG Sindh. SSP Suddozai placed special emphasis on taking strict and indiscriminate action against drug suppliers operating around schools and colleges.

In addition to daily search and combing operations, orders were also given for procedural improvements, including the timely processing of all arrested individuals through the Criminal Record Office (CRO). Instructions were also given to upload all case files to the PSRMS software, promptly trace “A” class cases, apprehend the involved culprits, and recover case property.

Strict security measures were also ordered for the polio campaign to prevent any untoward incident. Furthermore, the SSP ordered the police patrolling and blockade system to be made more effective, while security will remain on high alert at all CPEC and non-CPEC projects.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the SSP directed all station heads to improve cleanliness and discipline within police premises and to ensure that complainants are treated with courtesy and their issues are resolved on a priority basis. He issued a stern warning that any official found guilty of negligence or poor performance would face strict departmental action.
