Order to eliminate encroachments from Rawalpindi’s Ramadan bazaars, security alert issued

Authorities have ordered the complete elimination of all unauthorized parking and encroachments from around commercial centers and special Ramadan bazaars before the arrival of the holy month, along with issuing directives to keep a special watch on suspicious vehicles.

These instructions were issued by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam on Thursday after inspecting the traffic arrangements for Ramadan and convenience bazaars.

Addressing the staff on duty, the CTO ordered that no parking of any kind will be tolerated around the bazaars to avoid congestion. He particularly emphasized the need to maintain the flow of traffic on the highways at all costs during Iftar times.

In his instructions, CTO Aslam tasked the circle in-charges with directly overseeing the parking protocols and other traffic arrangements at all designated Ramadan and convenience points.

Sector in-charges have been directed to periodically check all duties and ensure that the deployed personnel are fully briefed about their responsibilities regarding both traffic management and security.

The CTO also called for the complete elimination of encroachments from around the bazaars to further ease traffic movement.

Emphasizing the importance of public service, CTO Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam urged all officers and personnel to provide every possible facility to road users through hard work and effective teamwork.

He said, “Providing convenience and safety to citizens during duty is also a part of serving humanity.”
