Outlawed BNA’s founder says war for rights is possible only thru constitutional means

QUETTA:Detained leader and founder of the banned Baloch National Army (BNA), Gulzar Imam alias Shambay, has said that war for the rights of Balochistan is possible only through political and constitutional means. Talking to media here on Tuesday, he said that the armed struggle for the rights of Baloch people and Balochistan was not correct, therefore, he hoped that government would provide opportunity for correction. “I have remained the part of armed struggle for fifteen years, enduring all kinds of situation”, said he, adding that being a Baloch it was his purpose to protect the rights of his nation and region.

He said he had started the armed struggle without knowing the state, adding that the way he had selected for the rights of Baloch people and Balochistan was wrong, because, he added, armed struggle further aggravated the problems of Balochistan. He said that some elements wanted to use Baloch forces as pressure group, creating thereby problems for the Baloch people. He appealed to the Baloch separatists to lay down their arms so that steps could be taken for addressing the problems of Balochistan collectively. Baloch students should work for the development of Balochistan instead of wasting time in the armed struggle, he said.

On the occasion, Minister for Home, Tribal Affairs and PDMA, Mir Ziaullah Langove, Senator Agha Umer and others were also present.
