Over 60 dacoits injured, 76 arrested in Karachi police operations throughout the week

Law enforcement agencies engaged in 45 separate encounters with alleged dacoits across the city over the past week, resulting in the arrest of 76 suspects, 62 of whom were injured during the exchange of fire.

According to a press release issued today by the office of the Additional IG Karachi, 68 illegal weapons of various types and 26 motorcycles were also recovered from the possession of the arrested individuals during these operations.

During the same period, a total of 1558 accused were detained in a widespread crackdown across the city from the East, West, and South zones.

Under the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign, the police recovered a large quantity of contraband. This includes more than 30 kilograms of charas and over five kilograms of ice, crystal, and heroin, valued at millions of rupees.

Authorities reported the recovery of a total of 154 illegal weapons with ammunition, which were allegedly used by the accused in robberies and other criminal activities.

Additionally, 36 snatched or stolen motorcycles and one large vehicle were also successfully recovered during police operations in various areas.

A spokesperson for the Karachi Police reiterated the commitment to continue efforts to eliminate crime, restore law and order, and protect the public.
