President Asif Ali Zardari today reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and called it a ‘difficult time’ while emphasizing the stance for unity, peace and stability in the nation.
The statement was part of a formal message from the President to Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of Sudan”s Transitional Sovereignty Council, on the occasion of the African nation”s Independence Day.
In his communication, President Zardari extended warm felicitations and underscored the deep-rooted, cordial relations between Pakistan and Sudan. He noted the ties are founded on shared values, a common Islamic heritage, and mutual respect.
The President highlighted that the relationship is characterised by trust, cooperation, and consistent reciprocal support at various international fora.
Looking ahead, the message conveyed Pakistan”s keen interest in further strengthening bilateral cooperation with Sudan, identifying political engagement, economic collaboration, and people-to-people exchanges as key areas for enhancing future collaboration.
