Pakistan Batter Sidra Amin Sanctioned for Repeat Code of Conduct Violation

Pakistan batter Sidra Amin has received an official reprimand and a demerit point for a breach of the International Cricket Council”s (ICC) Code of Conduct, marking her second such offence within a 24-month period.

According to a report by ICC today, the disciplinary action stems from an incident during Pakistan”s first One-Day International against South Africa on Sunday. After being dismissed in the 24th over of the innings, Amin slammed her bat on the ground before departing the crease.

The Pakistan international was found to have violated Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. This regulation pertains to the “abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an International Match.’

As a result of the infraction, one demerit point has been appended to Amin”s disciplinary record, bringing her total to two points. Her prior offence, a similar incident, occurred against India on October 5 during the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.

Amin acknowledged the offence and consented to the sanction proposed by Shandrè Fritz of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees, thereby averting the need for a formal hearing. The charge was initially levelled by on-field umpires Kerrin Klaaste and Nimali Perera, third umpire Lauren Agenbag, and fourth umpire Stacy Lackay.

According to ICC regulations, Level 1 breaches incur penalties ranging from a minimum of an official reprimand to a maximum fine of 50 per cent of a player”s match fee, in addition to the allocation of one or two demerit points.
