President Asif Ali Zardari, in a statement today, strongly condemned Israel’s military aggression against Lebanon, calling its repeated violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty and attacks on civilian areas a clear violation of international law.
In a formal message, the President described the Israeli actions as being in direct contravention of the UN Charter and a standing ceasefire agreement.
President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan”s unwavering support for Lebanon”s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He called upon the international community to help ensure the ceasefire is upheld and to facilitate the safe return of displaced Lebanese citizens to their homes.
The President’s remarks were part of a message extending the warmest felicitations to the government and the brotherly people of Lebanon on the occasion of their Independence Day.
He further stated that Pakistan attaches great importance to its longstanding ties with the nation and remains committed to further strengthening this mutually beneficial relationship.
